Justin T. Bowen
Justin T. Bowen is a distinguished Willard B. Gemmill scholar and a graduate
of the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, where he had
the distinction of being named Law Student of the Year in 2004. Mr. Bowen's
legal experience includes serving as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable
L. Mark Bailey of the Indiana Court of Appeals and spending time as a
part of one of the largest defense law firms in the Midwest. At this firm,
he defended large industrial manufacturers in toxic torts litigation.
Mr. Bowen devotes 100% of his practice to litigation, and has chosen to
focus his practice in the areas of criminal defense, family law, personal
injury, medical malpractice, and commercial litigation.
Mr. Bowen has been adjunct faculty teaching law courses at a state college
in Indianapolis, and his articles have been published in the
Indiana Lawyer newspaper. He also serves the Indiana University McKinney School of Law
as a guest lecturer, where he discusses topics regarding civil litigation
and family law.
Justin is a graduate of the Indiana Trial College, and he is a Registered
Domestic Relations Mediator in the state of Indiana. Mr. Bowen is a specially-trained
Collaborative Law professional as well as a trained guardian ad litem.
He has also dedicated countless hours toward working to become one of
the best DUI Attorneys and Criminal Defense attorneys in Indianapolis.
Justin has been selected to serve on the Indianapolis Bar Foundation Development
Committee and on the Indianapolis Bar Association Pro Bono Committee.
He also volunteers for the Bar Review Mentor Program.
With regards to his family law practice, Mr. Bowen places emphasis on cases
that involve division of high-value assets. He handles the division of
complex and high net worth marital estates for professional athletes and
other high profile litigants, tracing assets, assessing benefits and compensation,
and handling pre- and post-nuptial agreements on their behalf. Mr. Bowen
utilizes his courtroom experience also representing clients in contested
child custody and child support proceedings. Justin also has extensive
experience with military divorces. Mr. Bowen also practices in collaborative
divorce, wherein the parties agree to eliminate court intervention and
settle their disputes amicably.
With an extensive background in healthcare including several years as a
Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist, litigating on behalf of the injured
and those affected by medical malpractice was a natural fit for Mr. Bowen.
He represents those persons affected by automobile and truck accidents,
brain or spinal cord injuries, construction accidents, wrongful death,
premises liability, injuries to children, products liabilities, slip and
falls, among others. He also accepts viable medical malpractice claims
and nursing home accidents or death claims.
Criminal Defense has always been an important part of Mr. Bowen's practice,
and he works relentlessly to achieve the best possible outcome for his

Mr. Bowen has practiced in front of numerous Indiana county courts, the
Indiana Court of Appeals, both the Northern and Southern District Courts
of Indiana, as well as the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern
District of Indiana.
During law school Mr. Bowen was named Chair of the Indianapolis Bar Association's
Law Student Division. He was also appointed to the Indianapolis Bar Association's
Board of Managers in 2005, and was the first-ever student member of the
Indianapolis Bar Foundation's Development Committee. Justin was a
Member of the Dean's Student Advisory Board, a participant in the
Moot Court competition, and was the recipient of several scholarships
and awards, including being selected as one of 25 law students statewide
to become an Indiana Conference for Legal Education Opportunity Fellow in 2003.
A lifelong resident of Indiana, Justin attended Indiana University. As
an undergraduate student, he co-authored scientific research that the
American Society of Ichthyologists and Herpetologists published in the science journal
Copeia. Mr. Bowen graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree.
Mr. Bowen is also an active participant in his community, serving as the
co-director of two non-profit organizations. One of the organizations
awards college scholarships to graduating high school seniors in the name
of a fallen war hero, and the other has been charged with building the
Indiana Freedom Memorial. This granite and limestone memorial is being constructed in Marion, Indiana
to honor those soldiers who have given their lives in the 'war on
terror.' Bowen & Associates, LLC also supports several local charities
as a means of maintaining a strong connection with the communities they serve.
