A lifelong Indiana resident, Romy N. Elswerky is a cum laude graduate of
Indiana University, Robert H. McKinney School of Law, where he was the
Executive Production Editor of the Indiana Health Law Review, a member
of the Moot Court, and a member of the Dean’s Tutorial Society.
Romy earned his undergraduate degree from Indiana University in Political Science.
Romy began his legal career in the criminal specter. His first interning
experience began in the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office and
his last interning experience was with the Marion County Public Defender’s
Office. In the interim, he externed with the Honorable Grant Hawkins.
Romy then began working at a small, private criminal defense firm prior
to joining Bowen & Associates. Because of these experiences, Romy
understands what all sides of a criminal defense matter are thinking.
Romy handles a wide range of criminal defense cases, including:
- Operating while Intoxicated;
- Possession of marijuana;
- Possession of controlled substances;
- Public Intoxication;
- Minor Consumption;
- Theft; and
In addition to criminal defense matters, Romy assists clients seeking expungement
of their criminal and arrest records, seeking specialized driving privileges,
and seeking a reduction of class D felonies or level 6 felonies to misdemeanors.
Romy also represents clients in family law matters, ranging from divorces,
child custody/support, parenting time, division of assets, legal separation,
and adoptions. Romy relentlessly advocates on behalf of his clients in
obtaining the best result possible, in negotiations, mediation, and in
court. Romy has practiced and appeared in over 45 separate Indiana counties.
In his free time, Romy enjoys spending time with his family, playing sports,
and working on his yard.
