His legal experience includes serving as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable L. Mark Bailey of the Indiana Court of Appeals and spending time as a part of one of the largest defense law firms in the Midwest. At this firm, he defended large industrial manufacturers in toxic torts litigation. Mr. Bowen has been adjunct faculty teaching law courses at a state college in Indianapolis, and his articles have been published in the Indiana Lawyer newspaper. He also serves the Indiana University McKinney School of Law as a guest lecturer, where he discusses topics regarding civil litigation and family law.
With an extensive background in healthcare including several years as a Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist, litigating on behalf of the injured and those affected by medical malpractice was a natural fit for Mr. Bowen. He represents those persons affected by automobile and truck accidents, brain or spinal cord injuries, construction accidents, wrongful death, premises liability, injuries to children, products liabilities, slip and falls, among others. He also accepts viable medical malpractice claims and nursing home accidents or death claims
Organizations and Associations
During law school Mr. Bowen was named Chair of the Indianapolis Bar Association's Law Student Division. He was also appointed to the Indianapolis Bar Association's Board of Managers in 2005, and was the first-ever student member of the Indianapolis Bar Foundation's Development Committee. Justin was a Member of the Dean's Student Advisory Board, a participant in the Moot Court competition, and was the recipient of several scholarships and awards, including being selected as one of 25 law students statewide to become an Indiana Conference for Legal Education Opportunity Fellow in 2003.
Mr. Bowen is also an active participant in his community, serving as the co-director of two non-profit organizations. One of the organizations awards college scholarships to graduating high school seniors in the name of a fallen war hero, and the other has been charged with building the Indiana Freedom Memorial. This granite and limestone memorial is being constructed in Marion, Indiana to honor those soldiers who have given their lives in the 'war on terror.' Bowen & Associates, LLC also supports several local charities as a means of maintaining a strong connection with the communities they serve.
